Expressing our Love and Gratitude in the month of Valentine
Love your organic farmer
.. and your organic veggies and fruit grown in and on fertile and healthy soil.
Why choose organic fresh produce? Because the practise of chemical agriculture requires continued inputs and a subsequent dependency on the companies that manufacture chemical fertilisers and pesticides. The poisons in this method of agriculture have detrimental effects on biodiversity - insects, plants and micro-organisms - on the health of workers and communities living in close proximity to these farms and consumers.
When buying from an artist/maker, you are buying more than an object. You are buying hundreds of hours of failures and experimentation. You are buying days, weeks and months of frustration and moments of pure joy. You aren't just buying a thing, you are buying a piece of heart, part of a soul, a moment of someone's life. Most importantly you are buying the artist more time to do something they are passionate about. - by Rebekah Joy Plett, Artist We couldn't express our love and devotion to local artists & crafters more beautifully.
Colour Me Joy is a heart-warming initiative that invites young and old to be creative and imaginative for a good cause. Everybody is welcome to paint on the Charity Art Wall that is provided by Colour Me Joy in the market. The result is a lively, colourful and collective piece of art. The completed Art Wall will be auctioned with the requirement that it gets donated to a children's institution like a children's hospital or an orphanage. Through this, love and joy will be carried back to those children in need.
All funds raised from this initiative go towards the Emergency Pedagogy Intervention Group of the Friends of Waldorf Education.
