Birthday week 3 at the market

Just to let you know what's happening at the market during our third week of birthday celebrations.

Each Thursday we have been delighted by the appearance of the Michael Mount Waldorf School children in the market entertaining us with song, music and verse.   This week we start at 9.30am with Class 4B singing and reciting, a singing duet by Class 8B pupils, singing by Class 7B and Jan Luc Cardoso of Class 12 doing a piano recital at 12pm.

Then it will be the turn of our delicatessen stallholders to showcase their offerings.   There are talks and demos from 9.30am on Thursday and Saturday on raw cuisine, fermented foods, banting and baking, exotic tea tasting and all you need to know about diets  - banting, gluten free low fat and paleo.

The Knitted Knockathon continues at 10.30am on Thursday in aid of breast cancer awareness month and the Helen Joseph Breast Clinic.   Knit a pair of breast prostheses (knockers) from 100% organic cotton and stuffed with merino wool.   A donation of R50 covers the cost of the materials.

Saturday 22 October at 11am a group of teachers from Inkanyezi Waldorf School in Alexandria will entertain us with traditional song and dance.  And not to forget our fund raising drive for Habitat for Humanity. R20 will buy you a brick as well as an entry into the lucky draw for some super prizes.

See you at the market!

With Best Wishes,
Glenda Moore
