Final Week of our 40th Birthday Celebrations

October has been an amazing month at the market.   There have been talks and demos on health and wellness, textiles, organic agriculture and our delectable deli products.   We have been treated to the angelic singing and music of our Michael Mount Waldorf School and Inkanyezi Waldorf School students.   We have knitted breast prostheses for the Helen Joseph Breast Clinic and we have raised funds for Habitat for Humanity,in support of the Michael Mount Waldorf School Class 10 community project.   We have given away a host of spot prizes to our customers and enjoyed watching our artists and crafters at work.

But it is not yet over - we have one more week of exciting events to enjoy!

Celebrating Week Four

On Thursday morning, Michael Mount Waldorf School classes 4A, 5B and 6A will entertain us with song and verse.

From 10.30am we will host the regular Knitted Knockathon offered by Colourspun, where you can knit a pair of breast prostheses from 100% organic cotton and pure merino wool for donation to the Helen Joseph Breast Clinic. A donation of R50 covers the cost of the materials.

On Thursday and Saturday at 10am Cathy Froneman of Jewelled Leaf will demonstrate the making of a Tiffany Lamp.    A must if you are interested in the art of glass crafting.

Our final birthday event will be a grand fashion show at 12pm in the tea garden where we will showcase summer's latest fashions from our clothing stallholders.   Amongst the models are four Michael Mount Waldorf High School girls.

Our grateful thanks go to

Maya Angelou said: When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed.

It has indeed been a month of cheerful giving and grateful accepting.  We thank EVERYONE for their contributions to the festivities.   We thank the Council of Management, the teachers and the students of Michael Mount Waldorf School and their parents for birthing and supporting our market.   We thank our stallholders past and present for the heart and soul that they bring to our market and the market staff who work tirelessly to keep the market functioning.

Our biggest thank you goes to our loyal customers, many of whom have been with us throughout our 40 year adventure.   Long may we journey together in our goal for conscious living and healthy eating.

Do join us for this final week of festivities - it will be our pleasure to have you with us.

With best wishes,
Glenda Moore
